Fortress of Legnago
Almost totally destroyed by the French and Spanish armies during Cambrai war (1508-1517), the fortresses of Legnago were restored by the architect Michele Sanmicheli; the restoration works took place from 1525 to 1559 and the hexagon-shaped plan of the wall, provided with a rampart and outer moat, remained essentially unchanged until the fall of the Republic of Venice and the following Napoleonic and Austrian dominations, between the end of the eighteenth century and most part of the nineteenth century.
